The Taxidermist READ HERE
Writer Onnoleigh Sweetman
Short Screenplay
In the pastel-colored town of Hammie, a flamboyant investigative journalist named Jewelz Justice uncovers the shocking truth behind a celebrated local taxidermist. Wilda Winterstorm, award-winning animal stuffer and town darling, hides a gruesome past as Patty Picklebaum—the infamous "puppy killer" of viral infamy. When Jewelz confronts her during a routine puff piece interview, Patty unravels, retelling the wild, drug-fueled events that led to the accidental death of her beloved Snuggle Puss and the chaotic spiral that followed.

Most of Patty’s unhinged odyssey unfolds in the neon-soaked underworld of Las Vegas, where a single pill described as “Sudafed for the soul”, launches her into a deranged, glitter fueled descent-featuring rave funerals, tarot readers, strip clubs, and a DJ named Dubstep Jesus. With each bizarre turn, Patty’s past spirals further from redemption as the line between grief and madness disappears.

"The Taxidermist" is a darkly comedic, horror satire that meshes surrealism, social commentary on cancel culture, and Karen’s with the sensational energy of a Las Vegas fever dream. It’s a twisted ride through trauma, taxidermy, and one woman’s very personal idea of justice with the unhinged energy of a midnight cult classic.
